Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful Encouragement Card

This card was created by Sasha Williams of Washington, DC. Having lost her sight in both eyes in a car accident when she was a teenager, she has since regained most of her vision in her left eye. “Losing my sight helped me appreciate the beauty in this world.” Her inspiring outlook on life has not only impacted the way she has dealt with being partially blind, but also helped her get through a difficult time when she was homeless while raising her young daughter Eboni.

That experience led her to write, direct and produce the 2015 documentary “Raise to Rise,” about her experience living with her daughter in DC’s General Family Shelter. Sasha and Eboni currently have housing and live in our nation’s capital.
