Parental Classics Mom & Dad's Days Card

Made by Second Story Cards, where every card has a special meaning. Behind each one is a story of someone trying to get back on their feet, trying to create a new story:

“Cassette tapes aren’t the only things that need rewinding,” laughs cardmaker Ken Martin of Washington, DC. "My parents had a whole album’s worth of phrases they would repeat - kind of like a broken record.” Now a parent himself, Ken has several classics of his own and is singing a different tune: “When you’re a kid, you don’t fully appreciate the work it takes to be a parent. But believe me, once you step into that role, those classic one-liners you grew up hearing suddenly carry a lot more wisdom.”

Although Ken experienced homelessness for several years, we are happy to share that he has had secure housing since 2017. Ken receives 15% of the sales from this card. An additional 10% is donated to Grandparents Against COVID, a chapter of HelpAge USA.
